Kariega Homestead

Kariega Homestead

The Homestead is for the exclusive use of a group of up to 14 people. This farm-styled home-away from-home lodge offers guests the luxury of planning their own schedule, as well as a private chef and game ranger. The Homestead has its own bar and entertainment area, lounge and dining area, kitchen, laundry and playroom – all centred around a beautiful lawn and pool overlooking the surrounding African bush in the a remote part of the Big 5 reserve.

The reserve is home to more than 25 species of game including lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, White rhino, hippo, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala, kudu, warthog, and a variety of other antelope and more than 280 species of birds.

Kariega prides itself in the abundance of general game and birdlife supplementing the Big 5. A unique feature is the ability to walk freely and safely amongst the game in an area of the reserve which excludes the dangerous Big 5 animals.

The reserve is situated in the Eastern Cape province, at the end of South Africa’s famous Garden Route, and incorporates the Kariega and Bushmans Rivers.
