South Africa has some of the best land-based whale watching in the world. But, if you would like to get a bit closer to these friendly giants, then a chartered boat is the answer. The boats have a license that permits them to go within 50m of the whales. While you watch, you are able to hear the whale sounds via a hydrophone.
