Bars
Cape Town has a lively bar and pub culture, from dark underground haunts to glamorous beach cafes where the celebrities and film stars hang out. The Atlantic seaboard has perhaps the most spectacular establishments, some on terraces with pools overlooking the ocean, others, such as the Grand Beach Café, have their feet in the sand with their own private beach. On the False Bay side of the peninsula are more quaint, old world bars, the most dramatic of which is Polana, whose windows are doused with spray from waves that crash against the rocks below. Or how about the bizarre Grand Daddy Hotel Sky Bar which sits on a city rooftop filled with vintage Airstream trailers?
