The Kruger National Park was established in 1898 in order to protect the wildlife in that area. It is roughly the same size as Wales and now acts as a cross-section of South Africa’s history. There are San cave paintings and visible evidence of the migratory African tribes and European settlers. Each group of people that have passed through the millennia, have left their mark on the land and now it is a sanctuary; a preserved history and a landscape of the wild natural present.
